The Best of Pink City "JAIPUR" and Old City
Jaipur, the most populous city of Rajasthan State, is known as Pink City. It evokes the imperial house, which, in 1711, founded what today is known as the Old City, or Pink City, for its distinctive white-colored building style. The main boulevard stands majestic, imposing City Palace complex at the center of the city. There, surrounded by tall columns and beautiful gardens, lie the grand, modest Royal Palace. Some parts have been converted into an opulent palace, while others are part of royal palaces.
The Royal Palace is one of the significant landmarks of Pink City. It was the home of the Maharajas in Jaipur. Over time, this building has undergone several changes. A few decades back, it housed the court of the Ranjit Singh II. Later on, it became the residence of Maharaja Jai Singh. It has become a part of the National Museum of the Royal Collections of Art & Architecture. Also, it has the National Heritage architecture structure built by the then rulers.
As far as the city's cultural heritage is concerned, the Pink City is proud of it. Several temples and monuments around the city have been converted into museums. The most famous among them is the Raja Jai Singh Museum, which features paintings, sculptures, statues, and other memorabilia from the golden age of Rajasthani art.
If we talk about the Maharaja Jai Singh II palace, it houses some of the finest royal residences in India. This palace has a grand entrance and several rooms to choose from them. Each of these rooms has an impressive ceiling, walls, and floors. Because it is considered the most important palace in the Pink City, its grandeur is complemented by its various beautiful gardens. Along with these, some smaller gardens surround the Maharaja park.
Many of the old palace buildings have been turning into beautiful gardens. It was the order of the day in the eighteenth century. As a result, the gardens have kept their original look. Many of the shrubs, flowers, and trees have been preserved. The gardens have been adorning with statues, fountains, and other decorative items. The gardens have also become an attraction for tourists.
As far as the Old City is concerned, it serves the same function for its citizens. The Palace of the Fort has a large structure, transformed into an indoor mall.
